Avalon Hotel St. Petersburg / Downtown

Recently stayed at The Avalon while in town for a wedding. What a cute boutique hotel! The building is vintage and the rooms are a nice balance of vintage with modern touches. The bed was super comfortable! The hotel offers a complimentary wine and bubbly happy hour and a free shuttle service within 10 blocks. The gentleman working the front desk when we arrived was incredibly friendly and informed us of all the hotel amenities on upon checkin. Parking was a little sparse, but it may have just been the time we arrived as it was late afternoon on a Saturday. I would definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay while in and around St Petersburg. Desk folks were very nice. Room was a junior suite and it was very clean. King bed we slept in may be at the end of its serviceable life. Walking distance to pier and cafes.

Very nice Hotel, staff and atmosphere! I'm a born here local and treated my husband to the Van Gogh experience for his birthday. We enjoyed a great time at The Avalon! Perfect location, easy access to downtown and Beach Drive. Breakfast at The Hollindar was delicious, bar open late. We'd definitely stay here again!!

Avalon’s location is amazing… conveniently right off the highway AND a four block walk to the water. I didn’t know what to expect upon booking, but once I arrived I knew my intuition had led me to the perfect place. With free unlimited water bottles, fun places to connect with others (like the pool!) and impeccable service all-around, my visit was truly a surprising and magical stay! From check-in at reception to the waiters service at the Tap Room, everyone went above and beyond my expectations. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all wonderful as well, and the pool was a great place to hunker down and hang out. Super chill and fun, funky vibes. I will definitely be staying here again when I’m back to visit St. Pete!

I can’t say enough good things about Avalon Downtown St. Petersburg. A couple of years ago, my AC went out in my apartment and I decided to stay here while it was being fixed. Even though the AC issue was resolved after one day, I ended up staying for three—purely because of the environment, the service, and the unbeatable proximity to everything downtown. During that first stay, Kevin at the front desk made such a strong impression that I immediately recognized him when I booked again this weekend for my girlfriend’s birthday. That alone says a lot. This time around, Kevin was just as knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuine as I remembered. The consistency in his personality and service really stood out. To make the experience even more special, the team wished my girlfriend a happy birthday and had champagne waiting in the room for her arrival. That level of thoughtfulness goes a long way. Avalon consistently exceeds expectations. The service is exceptional, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the attention to detail is rare. Kevin is amazing, and I’ll happily find any minor excuse to escape here for a weekend. Highly recommended.

Love this cheeky retro hotel. Beautiful landscapes, room was clean, great location and good customer service. Easy to get around. Closed to Downtown and Pier. They did a great job renovation. Will definitely stay again. Free parking too.

We usually stay at the sister hotel The Hollander but this time we decided to stay at the Avalon. The Avalon is a small boutique style hotel very close in proximity to The Hollander. You can use any of the amenities at the Hollander which includes a great social pool with a poolside bar. The restaurant there is also wonderful. Our room at the Avalon was very nice. Everything was provided that you would need even bottled water. Between 5 and 7 pm, wine and champagne is served. Nice touch!

The Avalon is truly the best boutique hotel experience I’ve had in St. Pete. I’ve stayed here many times and each visit is just as wonderful as the last. The staff is incredibly mindful and caring. I have to give a special mention to Kevin, who went above and beyond to make sure I was looked after. I promised I’d write this review because they genuinely deserve the recognition, and I mean it. Not only is the service top-notch, but the rooms themselves are beautiful and incredibly comfortable. Everything about the experience is just wonderful. Plus, their sister hotel next door has great food and the pool events are not to be missed. If you want a place where the people truly care and you can relax in style, this is it. Rooms go fast so do try to book in advance- I keep learning the hard way lol. Ps- I promised I would and didn’t forget Kevin… you all rock and thanks for always looking after my forgetful self!
